About Me

My name is Travis Howell and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Oklahoma. My goal for the future is to create memorable experiences for all to enjoy. Whether that be through my architectural designs or through other means of self expression. I am driven by my love for all things entertainment. Comic books, Movies, Stage Productions, and Social Spaces are just some of the places where I find my muse. Outside of that I am an avid techie. I play video games, build computers, and explore emerging VR technology. I believe that my dream job is somewhere that I can express my artistic creativity with engineering.

What inspires me is….

It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.

Movie FX

With computer generated imagery (CGI) becoming more and more popular, I find something special about practical effects. Movies such as the Original Trilogy of Star Wars rely solely on the use of practical effects. The level of creativity and detail that is needed to create an environment ready for the big screen is unthinkable. However, I believe that it is something I can achieve.

Deconstructivism

Deconstructivism defines how my creative process works. It is wild and chaotic, but through and through in the end the product is beautiful. I enjoy this style of architecture because it doesn't follow the rules. It creates unique architecture that could never had been imagined by convention. This leads to my belief that you can't innovate without breaking a few rules.

Here’s to the crazy ones…
